As many are aware, Los Angeles and surrounding areas are being impacted by wildfires that have burned through some well known neighborhoods and areas, homes have been destroyed, several people have passed away, and close to 100 000 people displaced with those numbers all rising.

To those who are in the affected areas, be sure to take care of yourself. Do not ignore what your body and/or mind are telling you. Get proper care, try and stay fed and nourished, and take care of your families first. If any of you are reading this and need a safe place to express yourselves and help process the emotions, I’m here as your friend and will gladly listen. We may not know each other all that well, but after experiencing flooding and having friends enduring wildfires here in Canada, a friendly face or someone willing to listen can go a long way to bringing some comfort in times of trials.

And if not me, reach out to someone else you trust and feel safe with. Just be kind to yourself.

Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays. Season’s Greetings, and all that jazz. I hope your holiday is a festive and joyous one. For those who may not have the easiest time, my hope for you is that the spirit of this season can provide some comfort and solace when your heart and/or soul are grieving. Be kind to each other, be kind to yourself.

To the many people I met in this community this past year, thank you. It’s been a fun year, and I look forward to what the next one brings. May you all get the meets you want, the experiences you’re looking for, and may our paths cross sometime soon. Would love to share the mats with you.
