BJJ - I m proud of my medals at the ibjjf worlds, euros.... and that its a sport for every1 - it gives people good energy...and by bjj the whole world speaks 1 language... its full of joy
Helping beginners get started in the sport. I made it to purple belt but the thing I’m really proud of is helping others learn the basics and seeing where they go from there. A few of them surpassed me and I’m proud of them as athletes and friends.
I suffer from gastritis and daily nausea and rolling kills me sometimes. I got my blue belt and I'm still training. It sucks because it's my favorite thing in the world and my stomach kills it for me, but I'm still there and I am going to get my blackbelt.
I totally agree and give u a lot of credit for going to BJJ classes and rolling in your condition. While many of us also have medical issues they are pale in comparison to yours. The biggest obstacle I face is the walk from the bus stop that has been doubled due construction near the BJJ school and the buses being rerouted to a street causing a longer walk in the extreme heat to the gym. But once I arrive at BJJ class in the air conditioned gym I know it was worth the effort.
Having grappled with three guys (separate occasions) with advanced belts One black belt) in TKD, taking them down, and making them tap. First time, I thought it was sheer luck; as been over 50 years since doing TKD at a Jhoon Rhee facility – other two times suggest it wasn't sheer luck; and the only way anyone will know what it was is ----- ----- ----- yeah! You guessed correctly how to find our. Nonetheless, it was a BJJ-type maneuver.
PS I want to find some BJJ training partners who can train with me in my matroom here in my house. The only commercial places in walking distance went out of business (and were too expensive, anyway).
