Th emost humiliating pin for any of my opponenets was when I wreslted in college. I was second string 134 and was promised an exhibition match. We were wrestling against a school that had soundly beated us every year. We were missing a few weight classes on this local trip. We had an open spot at 158 (3 weight classes above mine, 134 at that time) and I asked th ecoach if I could fill in their as the first string was covering hte 134 pound slot. If ewe forfeited the weight th eother team woul dget 6 team points, the same as winning by a pin thus nothing ot lose if I fille din at that weight. He mentioned he would think about it. Our 118 lost by pin an dout 126 ost on points, thus we were down 9-6. Our 134 pinned his opponent closing the gap to 9-6. Our 142 managed to eke out a win on points tying the score at 9-9. I aksed th eocach at that point and he said go ahead and suit up in case he would want me to participate at 158. When our 150# class wreslte rpinned his opponent, we were up 15-9 agaunst a team we had never beat. I was tolf to go in and wrestle as the worse that coul dhappen if that I would get pinned and the score would be tied. I wen tout there agianst their 158 pound wreslter tried to tie up, unuscessfult he first time but ona reshot attempt giot a successful firman's carry takedown and then was able to keep him on his back and stick him (pin him). The crowd was stunned, my coach and team were happy as we were now up 21-9. I can only imaging the humiliation that their 158 pound wreslte rmust have felt in losing by pin to a wrestler who moved up three weight classes. We had to forfeit 167 and our tram lost the 180 pound and heavyweight matches thus we still lost the match, but for me my gretaest win in college and a humiliating defeat for my opponent.
