Full nelson since I was about 13. But also love double armbar, rnc, cobra, camel, crab, headscissors, bearhug, triangle choke, and double reverse leg grapevine.
Whether for sheer domination and wearing an opponent down to zero resistance with prolonged punishment, or for rapid submission, my fully seated Boston Crab has become a favourite of mine. The guy underneath is helpless once I have it locked on. Love applying it, love receiving it. The most crushingly painful hold I know.

I enjoy the guillotine. It's an excellent choke hold. It works well from standing or from knees (parre terre). It's very efficient with your right forearm pressed against his neck (jugular) while your right bicep flexes thereby pressing against his other jugular on his neck. For added pressure if applying the hold while standing, a slight hip pop in the forward direction will finish him off (force the tap-out, or knock him out). Like i said , it's efficient.
I agree, I started using it as an alternative t when I could not get an arm triangle, using it even in gi. When it is safe would love to practice these techniques with any resident or visitor to Las Vegas. I find it harder to get right than the arm triangle but once i get it and flex as applying it the tap usually comes fast.
Depends on whether I'm applying or receiving. I've won matches with arm bars. Two holds I like, that I've both won and lost with, are sleepers and headscissors/triangle chokes. And when wrestling as a good guy/babyface in pro matches, being placed in a bear hug can be fun.
I like the "mousetrap" series as it gives you 3submissions from a similar setup, if his arm is like the statue of liberty, the Americana if at 90 degrees to the body the straight arm lock, and if facing towards his legs (bent elbow), the kimura.
Sorry, buddy... I think your description of yourself as a total jobber makes it clear we wouldn't make a good match. However, I do wish for you many awesome matches with guys whose styles match yours well! :-)
Have to agree with most of these... with a few exceptions that reflect my body type and game:
Bottom half... if the opponent underhooks, armbar that arm (might work, but even if it doesn't, it makes it hard to flatten you if he is afraid of it.) I like bottom half.
I agree with the arm triangle from guard, it does work! Nice to see real holds and moves now showing in this thread instead of the "pro" junk and scripted nonsense moves.
awesome hold! love to watch the person receiving really beg to release it. and watching the giver, just squeeze it on and watch that smile of alpha. Never done or been but want to try
I love to see a guy slap on the banana split. Painful hold. But when it's slapped on a tough guy who refuses to quit and it's held for a long time. ..that's great!!!
Do u also use the related moves that u can switch to from the banana
split such as the electric chair, the spladle, twister (wrestling guillotine), and the truck. I find switching back and forth to these quite effective.
sounds like most of my matches with my local buddies. All tough guys but when we wrestle or have serious matches I always end up manhandling them. Chokes, slaps and some roughhousing are my magic recipe to tame strong guys. I wish there were more guys from this site in the Caribbean.
I would love to be trapped in a long held face in crotch head scissors, and face sit me to sub and if I
do sub keep me in until either I passout or I tap out like 12 times.
Triangle choke is really bad ass! watching the worry in the takers eyes is awesome, really making the giver feeling superior. Gonna hve to try this and perfect it
I have wrestled for submissions in past matches (not promission or pro fantasy - both were trying to defeat the other)and the camel clutch has been applied by and to me without it being a pro style match or pretend. While I understand where some of these serious submission wrestlers are coming from, some of their comments are inaccurate and border on snobbish. I even saw a competitive MMA match a few months ago where a version of a Boston crab was used for a submission. These holds be used rarely in MMA/grappling but they are submission holds.
Triangle choke is my favorite. In this choke I can usually see and gauge the amount of pressure/pain by the look on my opponent's face and the color of his face. Also, it feels dominant to have his head in my lap.
I weigh around 160. Wrestled a guy who weighs at least 230, probably more. He applied a camel clutch. He went completely shoot(real). I guarantee I was tapping in less than 15 seconds!
People may make the mistake of putting it in this thread. I for one look at the thread title, not the category, as I guess many others have with his one. Whilst camel sleepers, for example, are not how you would define 'submission hold,' It IS classed as a hold in pro-mission, give and take, pro, and many more. Instead of being quite rude, why don't you suggest a different group on where they can discuss said holds. And for some, camel sleeps are not a fetish, quite a few like that style of wrestling and are straight, or pro wrestlers. Gary
The problem is that "pr": wrestling is not wrestling entertainment. It is preplanned, choregraphed, and not real. Yes you need to be athletic as do all stunt men, but it is so obviously fake. Thrashing a guy in a "sleeper" and taking close to a minute to put him out and then he stays out still on the mat for a while, It doesn't happen that way. sleeper takes seconds to work, and sometimes the person jumps around (convulses) especially if not released right away. This "entertainment" has given real wrestling a very bad name I am glad the group owner is keeping this out of the group.
Sorry, but the single leg boston is a very real and effective submission hold. I have used it in many competitive submission matches and I have seen it taught in Krav Maga. You can apply it by starting from a standing achilles ankle lock which forces the opponent to lift his hips to take pressure off his ankle. It is then very easy to flip them onto their stomach and sit down to apply the single leg boston.
Once on, the hold is very effective and painful and it can be easily used to control or submit a much larger/stronger opponent.
About schoolboy and facesit pin in erotic men wrestle: I liked the facesit or schoolboy pin since my coming out (to notice I am bi, I also like men) in my youth (with about 16 years old): If the winner sits on the losers chest with his knees on his arms, the loser has almost no chance to get out, the winner can humilate and dominate the loser with words, also with scenes like raising arms, flexing and victory pose, or even strangle loser cause winner has his hands free (if losers arms are good pinned by winners knees).
The winner can force the loser to suck his dick while pinned, the winner can reach back and jerk the loser. Also good variation is reverse pin, winner sitting with his ass in front of or even on losers face, and in that positing loser has no chance if winner jerks him, loser has to cum. As I am bi, and my wife also likes me to wrestle other guys for her, schoolboy pin is a perfect way to win: she can come over and jerk and even suck the winners dick right in front of losers face, THAT is humilating. I think, and my wife also, schoolboy pin is the ONLY good hold to WIN......

My favorite would have to be the sleeper. First time I used it was on my cousin. We were both 14, and he had challenged me before, but being fitter than me made it a challenge to beat him. This time though I just tackled him straight to the ground. After only a short tussle I had him locked in and tapping. It's also always been fun to try and escape.
Second would have to be the triangle. I've only done it once, but I got lucky that a friend of mine didn't think I could pull it off. That was the quickest tap I've ever had.
Triangle Choke, gogoplata, arm bars and americanas are my most effective submissions, have a few others i like but those are my best, flashy variants such as the flying armbar are also a speciality
mine is the double armbar with a figure-4 head pin! Am very upset that recently it was made an illegal move in high school competition. So many high school wrestlers liked to use this move to devastating effect! Very very sad indeed. Stupid ruling.....

all holds where you are trapped with your head close to your opponent's armpits, thighs, butt or cock... especially facesit, facepin, figure 4 headlock, headscissor, etc... it shows who is the Master!
My favorite number one hold is the side bodyscissor. If applied correctly, you can really squeeze down on your opponent without exerting much strength. I have very strong legs. Once I have it locked on another guy, I can squeeze him till he either passes out or submits!
My favourite hold is the leg sleeper. I am resistant but as a jobber I like being trapped into the legs of my opponents and slowly sleepered. Has any one any experience in leg sleepers ?

FIGURE FOUR LEG SLEEPER!!This move looks great but I find it hard to get oponent in the right position to apply. The guy here makes it look so easy, anybody got any tips on how to apply?
There is another version of the figure 4 arm triangle from the back that appears to be the same. It is easier to get to, but I'm assuming that the setup is the same.
Starting from the Back, with both hooks in, and a seat belt grip across your opponents chest.
Grab your opponents wrist and trap it under one of your legs.
Slide your leg up to your opponents neck and hold it there by grabbing your ankle with your same side hand over his shoulder. (ie .. left foot used, left hand used)
This should trap your opponents arm above his head.
Next lock your knee over your ankle, and squeeze.
...
I assume that the leg triangle is a similar setup to this, by trapping the arms below the legs, either one at a time or both. This would leave your opposite side hand free to grab your ankle while you lock your knee into place.
I've had the best results from the armbar, but am always looking for new ways to make my opponents submit. Can anyone direct me to some decent videos that might show various holds?
Enjoy many variants of the Arm Bar mainly to feel the Bicep of My Opponent Resisting as I Hold the Arm Bar for the Muscle Strain! (Not so much interested in the joint lock here)
First one is the Good old Standard Arm Bar, Opponent on his Back Arm Set Between Legs and My Arms Across His Wrist! Than "hang" My Upper Body weight back as His Bicep Strains to do sort of an Arm Curl as he is Resisting!
Another Arm Bar I really Love is an Inverted Arm Bar Resistance Hold! This one is where my opponent is face down on the mats Arm Out, Palm Down and Crook of the Elbow up say 10 Inches off the Mat! Than I cross Mount Him with My Pelvis on his Tricep Muscle, Legs "hanging" on either Side of His Forearm and Wrist and Chest Across His Back! His Goal is to Resist as Long as He Can While Bearing My Wight!
NOTE! Be Very Careful with Either one of these as not to put your Opponent in any Danger of hyper extending their Elbow! Do all movements safely and slowly! By being Safe I have had A LOT of Fun and No Injuries to me or My Opponents!

I was training yesterday and am once again reinforced that the triangle choke is my favorite :)
There actually is a third variation that I missed before (the first two being from the guard position and from the mount position)! The one I missed is called inverted triangle choke and is harder to apply than the other two because you need to get behind your opponent first, either sitting behind the opponent, or sitting on his back. Assuming that you're pinning him face down, you need to work the (e.g.) right leg under the chin and the left shoulder, hook it under your left knee, and then apply pressure. A LOT of pressure :)

My favourite hold to be punished in is the body scissors. I think this stems from an experience when I was about 20 years old. I was going camping for a week at Steenbras Dam which supplies Cape Town with water. I invited the son of a neighbour to join me and he accepted my offer. He was four or five years my junior and I had ignored him as we grew up but he was then in a particularly muscular stage of development as he cycled everywhere, played rugby and so on.
During our week together I told him that I had just started training with weights at a local gym and was also going to learn to wrestle there. He took me by surprise and caught me in a body scissors. As I had not yet acquired any wrestling skills I didn't know how to escape from between his muscular thighs but he let me go when he said he saw my face turn blue.
Ever since then I am in ecstasy when caught in a body scissors between a pair of muscular legs.
Many years later a friend who was much bigger than me had me in a body scissors to my delight but after a while I submitted. He didn't let go. I said to him, "I've submitted. I've had enough" to which he replied, "Yes, but I haven't had enough"! This, I discovered, escalated my enjoyment to double ecstasy. Why? Perhaps because I was in a real fight situation rather than a game where I could turn the suffering off when I wanted to.
My favourite holds to apply on opponents are: the body scissors (of course), the Indian Deathlock (because it poses so many possibilities) and the double figure-four leg-lock because most opponents submit even before the hold is fully applied. LOL Yes, I'm sado-masochistic.
I think it would be most helpful if members describing new variations of holds could accompany their descriptions with photos of the stated stages of applying the hold. I find it difficult to visualise the descriptions without seeing the move at the same time. Nowadays with so many mobile phones having cameras built-in and pocket cameras it should not be difficult to do. It may present problems to the web-master, but not insoluble problems.
Guy that is getting choked out is able to defend, and pulls trapped arm out. Head is still trapped. I end up in this position frequently.
The guy who applies the triangle then uses his arm and grabs his own leg behind opponents neck, and applies a very uncomfy thight choke with arm and one leg. Other leg can even let go, but choke gets thighter if that legs stays in.
By the way, my favourite is the rear naked choke. Once applied no way out :) Thats submission wrestling to me! Besides, I was lucky enough to win my first "official" fight with that hold! Makes it my Number one!
My favorite hold is also the triangle choke. I know a 3rd possibilitie, to get it. You can get it also from the mount position, if you take one leg under the head of your partner and lock it down with your other leg. It`s easy to lock it while you sweap him in the same time.
And I love the mata leon (anaconda choke) from the back mount.
I love arm bars - especially when I realize I have the opportunity to apply one when I least expect to be able to. For example, the last unusual application (unusual to me anyway) was from a mount. Someone I had managed to get opponent's right arm behind my knee; I sat back on his abs and pulled the arm stretched out (somewhat crushing the arm). From this position, I lifted my left foot up a bit so that toes were on my opponent, just to the left of his groin. This had the effect of lifting my lower left leg a bit (at least at an angle as my knee was still on the mat). I then just pushed the guy's outstretched right arm down, leverage over the back of my lower left leg. Arm bar! Submission.
At the risk of looking like I'm talking to myself, I'll answer my own question. :)
My favorite technique is the triangle choke. It's a great hold, not very easy to apply, but once properly applied, it is even harder to escape. I can do two basic variations: one from the guard (when I'm on my back and have the other guy held between my legs) and one from the mount.
Sometimes it's actually easier to apply it from the guard when the other guy tries to pass your guard by pushing one of your legs over his head. The proper time is when your leg is past his shoulder, but not his head yet. If you manage to catch him at the right time, the hold basically applies himself. :)

I like the "mousetrap" series as it gives you 3submissions from a similar setup, if his arm is like the statue of liberty, the Americana if at 90 degrees to the body the straight arm lock, and if facing towards his legs (bent elbow), the kimura.

Bottom half... if the opponent underhooks, armbar that arm (might work, but even if it doesn't, it makes it hard to flatten you if he is afraid of it.) I like bottom half.

22/3/2014 20:02I have wrestled for submissions in past matches (not promission or pro fantasy - both were trying to defeat the other)and the camel clutch has been applied by and to me without it being a pro style match or pretend. While I understand where some of these serious submission wrestlers are coming from, some of their comments are inaccurate and border on snobbish. I even saw a competitive MMA match a few months ago where a version of a Boston crab was used for a submission. These holds be used rarely in MMA/grappling but they are submission holds.

13/7/2012 8:07About schoolboy and facesit pin in erotic men wrestle: I liked the facesit or schoolboy pin since my coming out (to notice I am bi, I also like men) in my youth (with about 16 years old): If the winner sits on the losers chest with his knees on his arms, the loser has almost no chance to get out, the winner can humilate and dominate the loser with words, also with scenes like raising arms, flexing and victory pose, or even strangle loser cause winner has his hands free (if losers arms are good pinned by winners knees).
¡Ingresa para ver las fotos de la galería, por favor!

12/4/2012 2:17My favorite would have to be the sleeper.

10/12/2010 5:13My Favorite Hold is Definitely the Arm Bar!
¡Ingresa para ver las fotos de la galería, por favor!

07/12/2010 8:07I was training yesterday and am once again reinforced that the triangle choke is my favorite :)
A LOT of pressure :) ¡Ingresa para ver las fotos de la galería, por favor!

01/12/2010 13:40My favourite hold to be punished in is the body scissors.
LOL Yes, I'm sado-masochistic.
donphoenix (13)
01/12/2010 13:21I think it would be most helpful if members describing new variations of holds could accompany their descriptions with photos of the stated stages of applying the hold. I find it difficult to visualise the descriptions without seeing the move at the same time. Nowadays with so many mobile phones having cameras built-in and pocket cameras it should not be difficult to do. It may present problems to the web-master, but not insoluble problems.
boine (115 )
23/11/2010 19:22There is a third variant on the triangle.

22/11/2010 13:32My favorite hold is also the triangle choke. I know a 3rd possibilitie, to get it. You can get it also from the mount position, if you take one leg under the head of your partner and lock it down with your other leg. It`s easy to lock it while you sweap him in the same time.
And I love the mata leon (anaconda choke) from the back mount.
NJWoodbridge (140)
22/11/2010 2:29I love arm bars - especially when I realize I have the opportunity to apply one when I least expect to be able to. Arm bar! Submission.
SileX (207 )
19/11/2010 16:18At the risk of looking like I'm talking to myself, I'll answer my own question.
