I concur with both of you, Prodaltx and wristlock. The important thing from my perspective is to have a match that both wrestlers will enjoy. Talking it over beforehand is a good way to ensure that holds are used or not used based on individual preferences.
Another scenario is to follow a series of scripted back and forth holds. That way each wrestler will know what to expect and the match should proceed smoothly. However after those series of holds are completed, the two wrestlers can continue wrestling following their instincts with each other to finish the match in a friendly fashion.
Yes Prodaltx, I totally agree with all of that. A scripted exchange of holds is just right for both wrestlers to have fun, and each wrestler can decide which holds he wants to apply, and which holds he wants to be put in.
And of course ad lib holds after that are the icing on the cake
Many wrestlers on this site have asked me about roleplay/fantasy. It entails acting out your wrestling fantasies and scenarios, like wearing pro gear, doing intros, doing handshakes (or declining to do so), being towelled and taking water between timed rounds, using dice on smartphone to decide who gains a pinfall(s) in which round(s), etc.

DCPanther, your dead right, talking it over beforehand is good.
You both get to have fun by doing that
