New Year, new posting- as I mentioned, I've received some comments, questions (thank U for the flattering words) so it's time to explain some facts; then U can make your judgements. Coach Joe & I (God, I miss that man) shared many traits in common, 1 of wch was we spoke our minds (he would enter a chat room, say s/thg so typically Joe, wch most guys wouldn't "get" & mention how he would be blocked, lol); I once asked him about a comment & he remarked "when did I care what other guys said or thought" & we both broke out laughing, so f-g true. I rarely make comments anymore anyway cause life down here is very different in positive ways (my days are very long since I am busy exercising & enjoying both life & the weather) & I really can't deal w the BS I read (like what celebrities U wanna gutpunch, when did U know ur weenie got hard from fighting, blah, blah, blah).
In the last post, I frankly said the quiet part out loud- I'm not gonna wrestle anyone who doesn't make my dick hard- I'm not a young competing for a scholarship or a medal, I'm not in a club & I certainly don't have a desire to wrestle anyone just because they are on this site, no desire to take down a man who is not in shape, or is overweight or tho my age or younger, looks like my Dad. It's not just the young guys who get to decide who they wanna wrestle, fight, meet. Over the years, I've chatted w many men who are similar in age & were similar in build then I watched as they put on 20, 30 or more pounds & not in a flattering way- Dudes, WTF?? A little history here- I consider myself blessed cause at 71, I'm in gr8t shape & I keep myself in gr8t shape; I have been lifting longer than most men on this site have been alive (like 50 years, just sayin). I'm 1 of the few men on this site who has been up close & personal w major body builders (incl a Mr. Olympia) & got to know more than a few of the mega bods that were porn stars in my younger years so sorrry, not sorry for being "selective". But this is a fight site, not a looking good site so altho I wrestled in high school, my college didn't even have an athletic center/gym tho I did get a gr8t Jesuit education; 3 years of law school, wch aint fun period; but upon graduating, during the time of Gay Liberation, unlike so many allegedly bi/str8t/DL/confused men on this site, men who got married or had kids & didn't/couldn't figure out they were gay & still don't (I don't get that shit!), I dove into the Gay pool head first, never looked back, never got out, among the best years of my life (tho I aint complaining today!). Life was a blast, until it wasn't- the AIDS epidemic killed most of my buds & all of my partners- I spent more than a dozen years caring for those men, very difficult, no regrets, good karma. So while U guys are taking prep, life was different 40 years ago & know that it was that generation, my generation, wch made sites like these possible. & then, I had the responsibility of caring for an elderly, disabled parent for another dozen years, a reason why I was living in upstate NY & another very difficult period but no regrets, good karma.
When I first joined MF more than 7 years ago, my attitude was different- as much as I enjoyed the body contact, wanting to improve my skillset was paramount. Chatting w members here & reading files, I could see that bjj was the way to go & found a local club, training center. But the One up above has always been jealous & continually humbles me- w/in a couple of weeks, not realizing it when it happened, I broke my arm so bjj wasn't in the cards. An injury is 1 thing; an injury requiring surgery is another cause it's not just the surgery, it's the recovery period, usually lasting bet 3-4 months. Despite my upstate surgeon's objections, when he told me I had sufficiently healed, since I couldn't really wrestle so quickly after a surgery, I found a boxing gym up in Albany & that gym was 1 of the best gyms I ever joined- gr8t classes & training sessions throughout the day, good buddies but most of all excellent trainers & coaches, who for some reason took a shine to me, the oldest member in the gym (I think because they were surprised at my fitness level, I trained really hard & improved my skillset w their training). My boxing Coach was a former Showbox professional, who taught me well & I earned his respect, wch meant a lot to me. Sadly & surprisingly, that UFC gym closed down 2 years after I was there. There were other boxing gyms in Albany but none as convenient- that gym, tho 45 miles away was a 75 minute drive & since U have to put wraps on & warm up, we're talking a 90 minute start to my day. After that gym closed, I did some research & found a wrestling gym in the Capital District, owned & operated by a former All American, another gr8t guy who respected & admired my fitness level so much we had many good training sessions together & became good friends; that ended due to another surgery & when I had healed, it was winter & I wasn't keen on driving 75-90 minutes in each direction w wintry weather.
While we're talking injuries, I've had more than my share while a member here- 7 months after I broke my arm, I needed a hip revision since the plastic ring of my 1st total replacement was wearing out; 6 months after that, I tore my right rotator cuff for the 3rd time (my city surgeon said that I was/am his only patient who has had 3 rotator cuff surgeries & still has a functioning shoulder) & as mentioned above, during the period I had been training w my wrestling Coach, I ripped a bicep tendon at my regular gym (I worked out twice a day, wrestling AM, gym PM); as a result of that surgery, I developed carpal tunnel syndrome from the nerve block used another surgery) & also developed a blood clot, an unusual circumstance for an upper extremity.
Ok- why so many surgeries? No idea cept as I mentioned above, I met more than a few mega bods; in my younger days, I used to bench 315Lbs 5X w a max of 375; I used to squat 405 Lbs 10X so U lift that weight repeatedly (I weighed bet 175-180 lbs), U are putting pressure on ur joints & it obviously takes a toll- w age comes wisdom, wch I only wish I had earlier. 1 reason I looked for boxing/wrestling gyms later in life is not only my profound interest in contact sports but altho each sport has its own physical challenges, they have less wear & tear on the joints (ask Mary Lou Rhetton about that & she is in her 40s). The surprising thing is that I led & lead a very normal life & am way more physically active than most- a recent physical exam found that I had the metabolic age of a man half my age. Despite my shoulder injuries, it is stronger today than it has been in the past few years & I am also swimming further than I have in a very long time (plus it's gr8t cardio).
Then throw in my last surgery (hopefully, last)- my near fatal fall hiking in the mountains just over 5 years ago (it's the subject of my 1st blog). Funny thing- I had met a guy just b4 the accident who was doing bjj at the local club & he suggested I give it a go so tho I spoke to the black belt, timing was off once again- like I said, He humbles me! That nite, I was very lucky & only survived because I was in gr8t shape & lean- otherwise, it would have been my frozen corpse they would have pulled out of the ravine. All injuries damage your body like a car accident damages a car- it can & will function well but never as well as the day U drove it off the lot. I wasn't sure if I would/could walk again but I do & can tho I have some limitations (I'm not running any marathons anytime soon). But it wasn't just an injury- 2 days b4 my release from rehab, I developed a second blood clot. For those who don't know, a blood clot can be deadly, unexpectedly causing a stroke, a pulmonary embolism or a cerebral hemorrhage. The treatment for a clot is to take blood thinners for 90 days & go back to normal; the treatment, once it repeats, is to take blood thinners for the rest of ur life. I had just begun forced impact training w Coach Joe & he was eager to resume our training; I couldn't/wouldn't initally & was somewhat reluctant (my hematologist at that time said no way, I said good bye); Joe & I had several discussions & I decided I did not want to live the life prescribed by blood thinners & that is how our relationship developed instead of ending. A year after that surgery, just b4 the onset of covid, I developed my 3rd clot, took the blood thinners for 4 months & continued my training w Joe. Sadly, he had to live up to what he said about death & dying; so far, I am lucky tho I do know the protocols. Joe gave me 1 of the tuffest cores on this site & I intend to keep it- my gut is still like a brick wall & I can handle gut punching better than most on this site; I challenge anyone to prove otherwise.
So the point- 1st, location; living upstate, wrestlers are few & far between so if I can't train or find a partner here, I got off my ass & drove 2.5-3 hours per day where I could train in contact sports & gained the respect of members & coaches IRL at those gyms; 2nd, there is a time element involved so altho I'm on here 7 years, I spent 20-24 months recovering from the surgeries listed above so that I can continue doing what I want physically & my pictures indicate that I've recovered extremely well; 3rd, never say to my face that this guy aint tuff as nails- U pull ur crippled ass off a mountain or drag ur sorry old ass to PT, workouts, daily exercise at my age or don't follow the medical protocol for a life threatening condition, then we'll talk.
One last thing on this blog (1 more blog & I'm done, terminado)- just shy of 2 years, I came to PV for the 1st time & fell in love w the place. In fact, I wrote in a blog that there was a beach in Mexico w my name on it. From that time, even thru today, I've been working on establishing my life here. More than 1 guy on this site has said they hope I get enuff wrestling here (I do but different)- guys, get a life. I didn't move to PV for the MF scene- I moved here cause I live in summer all year, I am shirtless, in shorts or swimsuits ALL YEAR!! PV is safe, it's beautiful, it's extremely gay-friendly, it's convenient (I can & do walk to the beach almost every day) & it's fun: it's a tourist town, 1 of the premier gay destinations on the planet w a gr8t social scene- there is a ton of attractive, muscled men, both native & tourist, here every day. So, no wrestling & fighting are not my priority here (tho I do get my share of contact sport from adventurous locals & tourists, just sayin). S/one here said I'm crazy- yup, like a fox! Tho there have been problems (the manana mentality can get weary & real estate has doubled since I first came here), Mexico has been good for this guy, hopefully even better now that I'm more settled in my own place.

Recently, I've been asked by members some questions, wch I will try to answer in this blog & in a latter one- like do I still wrestle? Yes, tho not from members here, basically w tourists who are game for some hot, sweaty fun & yes, I had some gr8t matches b4 I left NY (but again, not w anyone from this site); do I travel back to the States? No, I didn't travel much when I lived back in the States, wch is why I didn't have many listed matches & No, I don't really intend or want to tho I am considering a partial residence in San Diego next year; why so few listed matches? A few reasons above but more details below & another time; & what happened w Coach?, wch I will explain shortly.
Generally, lemme just say that in all honesty, wrestling for me is very erotic & always has been so just know, I won't wrestle anyone from this site unless they are gonna make my dick hard; otherwise, I'm not gonna have the desire to compete w U for domination, test your strength & skill, it's a waste of my time & at my age, I no longer allow that to happen. Which brings up another point- my age; at 70, I aint gonna be wrestling at the Gay Games, aint wrestling for a scholarship, aint gonna compete w men way younger than myself- it's for fun, body contact, & exercise. Which brings up another point- over a year ago, in my last blog, I mentioned there was a beach w my name on it- PV Baby! Fell in love w the place & made it my biz to get my butt here full time- I live in year round summer, luv it, w/in walking distance to a beach, luv it, & PV is 1 of the premier gay tourist destinations on the planet, LOVE THAT! So, I am outdoors all the time, swimming/gym almost every day, plenty of exercise & "body contact"whenever I choose so I am more than happy w my life/lifestyle here (wch explains why I really haven't been online much this past year, hardly ever in chat).
B4 I drove down here last year, I thought I might stop along the way & have some matches but my goal was to get here as quickly as possible (4 days to Flagstff, 3 more days to PV & that's travelimg 10-14 hours/day) so I apologize to some men I had been chatting with about not meeting up (& because the trip was way too long, never drove back). I live in the Romantic Zone (RZ) & tho we do have gyms, there are no wrestling/boxing/martial arts gyms here tho there are some bjj/boxing gyms in other parts of the city; now that I'm finally settled into my condo, I may consider joining one but key word is may- as I said, I live in perpetual summer & I'm too old & happy to get my lazy ass butt up & out for an early AM or evening training sessions, esp if most of the class is under 25 (most gyms in PV are NOT air-conditioned & I'm not fully acclimated to a tropical summer- just working out at Big Apple this past summer, I always sweat buckets & lose a couple of pounds). So we go to the beach & swim, wch is, was & always will be my favorite exercise- water sports are my passion, big reason why I moved here.
Now Coach- many of U know my relationship w Joe cause I was busted up when he suddenly cut off our training sessions w/o any explanation, a subject of my 2nd blog- I was devastated because of our close relationship over the prior years. Then, in another blog, I wrote how lucky I was that we reconnected. Now, I can say how extremely fortunate I was to have spent trime training w him- I cannot say w certainty what happened but I believe he may be at peace. When Joe & I reconnected, he made cleat that he had no idea how long we would continue training together & when the tme came, he would let me know- the time came.
We trained for another 18 months & this time, it was time for me to step up since our training was as much about him as it was for me- I cannot say why but obviously being in gr8t shape from an early age w hus 8-pac & having an extensive background in boxing. he enjoyed gut punching & man, did he enjoy taking that ball hundreds of times; just as he always pushed me, I did the same to him to keep him in shape. Very few of U know what it's like to deal w individuals who are terminally ill- having cared 4 friends & partners for over a dozen years during the AIDS epidemic, all of whom died, & having cared for an elderly disabled parent till her death for over a dozen years, U sorta learn to appreciate the time U have together cause once it's gone, it's gone, no regrets. Joe was, as always, the same remarkable Coach that gave me the hardest gut I ever had & harder than most on this site- I've yet to see anyone do a video similar to mine, just sayin. But, to me, he was so much more than that- he was one of the more dominant male figures in my life: we listened to each other- for example, I never tired of hearing his RailRoad stories & jokes & he was curious when I told him about my gay lifestyle in NY (wch made him very different from most conservative Southerners); we confided in each other & gave each other advise- he was my friend, a brother & I miss him. About 6 months ago, he told me that it was time; he had prepared me so as upsetting as it was, no tears, no drama but a heartfelt Good Bye & I told him I loved him & he said he loved me. I miss that man- he was 1 of the most generous, honest, open hearted sportsman that I have ever met, totally w/o arrogance or pretense, a gentleman. U guys wanna know about tuff/strength- imagine getting a diagnosis of terminal brain cancer & being told U may have only a few months (luckily, he had longer); imagine watching & experiencing your body parts weaken/deteriorate gradually- only then can U imagine the mental & physical strength & character that it takes to accept that diagnosis & fight every day for some normalcy, esp when U were in perfect health for most of your life- that's TUFF! I can go on indefinitely but U guys get the idea of how much I admire, respect & love Joe.
A couple of months later, a couple of months ago, I noticed a call/message from Joe that came while I was at the beach, an unavoidable regret- it was from Joe but the nessage wasn't able to transcribe, wch leads me to believe his time had come- he said he would try to let me know & I believe he did. I am honored/glad to have known the man, nothing more to be said.
Good News- Coach is back!!

In case you haven't noticed, Coach Radner, formerly known as Radner Bearman, is back online, which is great news and a remarkable achievement. Today, we both had a great workout and during our session, I mentioned how none of you pussys on this site accepted my challenge re forced impact training, which is what Coach & I do together; we laughed & during our conversation, it came about that he said he missed many of the men he previously trained & I broached the subject of whether or not he wanted to rejoin MF (s/thg he had previously not wanted to do for personal reasons). He indicated an interest & wanted to think about it; just so happens that another man on this site who has been able to keep in contact w Coach also spoke to him today (Lean in Speedos, Gary) & Coach decided to rejoin- YAY!! (Thank U Gary for your assistance in this matter!) If you read my blog about a year ago, the fact that Coach is not only around but able to rejoin this site is demonstrative of incredible resilience, physically, mentally, emotionally- it's admirable & worthy of respect, indicative of a true fighter. I am leaving for PV later today, my second trip this year (first was in Feb., just b4 Wrestlefest- hhmmm, sunny beach in Mexico w tons of Hot Men or Wrestlefest, that sunny beach won, lol)- since I will be away, it would be great if those of you whom he trained, chatted with and expressed a desire to know after I wrote my blog about Coach got to reconnect or connect with him. He had nothing but great things to say about the men who chatted with him today & I am very appreciative of that fact, as he is. But please read his file- do not pressure him for phone contact (unless he chooses) because there are privacy issues involved, wch could/would jeopardize his return to the site- be mindful of that fact. And since forced impact training is how we got started, lol, since you pussys can't give a compliment to this Old Man, you could compliment Coach on how effective his training is as illustrated by my video. Great work Coach & glad to have you back- will keep in touch while in PV.

Hey, Pwers1103 here- U know, the old guy who goes on all the rants about all the BS comments posted? That would be me, grin. I just posted a video on forced impact training- a sample of some of the drills I have done w my Coach Radner Bearman (who, as I mentioned in my video caption, is still w us & doing well, considering) in forced impact training, the only way to prepare your core for fighting. If U recall, Radner Bearman, was the tall guy w the 8pac who was a former amateur boxer, coach & trainer so he knew a few things about developing one's core for fighting. These drills are just a sample of what we did/do. This video was basically gonna be a rehearsal to see just how much punishment I can take in 15 minutes but it turned out so well (according to Coach & a few buds) that I decided to post it and issue a challenge. Tho there have been a few decent gut punching vids, not terribly impressed by most, watching so called Tuff Guys, usually flexed, moan & groan in their 2-3 minute videos. So, let's go over the challenge & see who accepts it (unless U are a trained fighter, doubtful anyone will, just sayin). Let's begin w the fact that this guy is 69 years old, no real 6pac & weighs 160 lbs. There are 8 exercises w a total of 750 strikes in 15 minutes.
1st Exercise (U need to listen as well as look, reason why 2 be explained at the end)- U punch the crap out of Ur core 100X w EACH fist; to show that I don't play, notice the color of my gut when I'm finished- if ur gut isn't a similar color, U aint hitting hard enuff; U should do it lying on the bosu because Ur arms get a greater range of motion for more impact but lying on the floor will suffice;
2nd Exercise, Coach's favorite- "taking the ball"; again, lying on the bosu because U can actually see the impact of the ball slamming against the body, I took a 20lb med ball & rammed it into my gut 50X (this is just a sample because Coach & I actually do this exercise a few times, several hundred hits each); a 20lb ball is 13% of my body weight & any challenger should use the same percentage (for example, if one weighs 190-200lbs, U should be using a 25lb med ball);
3rd Exercise- in a prior comment about forced impact training, I mentioned my "stick" & U can see the comparison w a baseball bat; since I cannot slug the bat into myself, I have a tree limb & I ram it into my gut 60X, again while lying on the bosu; doesn't quite simulate a baseball swing but if one does it several hundred times like I have, it prepares your gut for the impact & lying on the bosu gives a greater range of motion but lying on the floor will suffice; since most of U won't have a stick like mine, a metal cylinder about 5 feet long, 15lbs should do the trick;
4th Exercise- I went to the box store & got the biggest metal mallet I could find (about 4-5lbs) & slammed it into my gut 60X;
5th Exercise- I took a 10lb plate & slammed that into my gut 60X; I used a 10lb plate because I am not a big man w a long torso & this plate fits compactly into my core w/o and fear of damaging my rib cage or my money muscle;
6th Exercise- here, I took a 25lb dumbell & slammed it into my gut 60X; a 25lb dumbell is 16% of my body weight & once again, any challenger should use the same percentage (for example, if one weighs 190-200lbs, U should be using a 30-35lb dumbell); note that this is the only exercise that I do flexed (Coach's call & it is harder to do it while in a hollow hold) tho I usually do it unflexed- as Coach sez, if U cannot take a punch unflexed, U shouldn't be taking punches at all, just sayin. & when U train in forced impact, ur core automatically tightens w/o flexing;
7th Exercise- so many men say they are tuff as bricks so I just decided to SHOW that I am, grin- I rubbed the brick against the wall so U can tell it is an actual brick & slammed it into my gut 60X;
8th Exercise- we end the way we start w 100 punches from EACH fist to Ur core; now I asked all to listen for a reason- Ur punches should not only sound as solid as mine BUT if U listen, U will notice there are different depths to the sound & that is because I hit my entire rectus abdominus- a fighter should be prepared to take punches thrown at his entire core. & if U doubt the force of the impacts, to the left of my navel, the vieweer's right side, U can see the outline of the brick on my gut.
So there U have it- let's see how many of U can do what this 69 year old man has done- time to put up or shut up Dudes. I put in a match request when I was down in the city during Wrestlefest weekend, no takers- who is sorry now, lol?? & If anyone wants to challenge me personally, please feel free.
I don't expect any favorable comments (world's worst attitude here, grin) but a few things- to gut punchers who say this isn't gut punching, U are right- it's HARDER because, again as Coach sez, how many of U have the force of 10, 20, 25lbs in ur fists?? Yeah, that many, lol; to wrestlers who say it ain't wrestling, U are right-it's training for fighting & I am down w that- kinda obvious I can take a sucker punch from most anyone & much more in any Gut/body punching competition. Like I said, show me what U got- this challenge aint open ended- I'll give 2 weeks to see who has game & acce[ts.
